Among all the chaos and pandemic-related news stories, Apple announced the release of their new iPhone SE today.
A modern twist on an old classic, the iPhone SE is reminiscent of the design of older generation iPhones (smaller screen and reintroduced home button) but with speed and willpower greater than its 2019 iPhone 11 counterpart.
The iPhone SE promises to be affordability priced starting at $399, about 40 percent less of a cost than the standard $699 iPhone. This makes the device the most affordable iPhone entering the market.
Other than the exciting low price point, the iPhone SE is powered by the specially designed A13 Bionic- the fastest chip in a smartphone device. The A13 Bionic holds the power to a greater battery life, lightening fast web browsing and gameplay (including augmented reality experiences), and breathtaking Portrait mode and Smart HDR photo capturing.
Speaking of photo quality, the iPhone SE prides itself on having the best single-camera system in an iPhone. With a 12-megapixel f/1.8 aperture Wide camera, this device uses the image signal processor and A13 Bionic chip to benefit the photographer in everyone. Portrait mode, all six Portrait Lighting effects, and Depth Control are all compactly available in the iPhone SE.
Stereo audio recording and cinematic video stabilization is built into the front and rear cameras of the iPhone SE. High-quality video capture at 4K up to 60fps is supported on the rear camera, and QuickTake video allows users to video record without leaving Photo mode on both front and rear cameras.
Wireless-charging capabilities are prominent on the iPhone SE, as the device is friendly with Qi-certified chargers giving users up to a 50 percent charge in the small timeframe of 30 minutes.
If users have two separate phone numbers on a single device, the iPhone SE supports the use of Dual SIM through eSIM technology.
Aesthetically crafted in three different colors to choose from- black, white, and red, the iPhone SE will be set to pre-order on Apple’s official website by this Friday, April 17.
Interestingly, Apple has teamed up with Google to build a software together that would alert users if they came in contact with another person carrying the coronavirus. A move known as “contact tracing”, Apple and Google are working closely to build this detection software into billions of iPhones and Android devices within the next few months.
Talk about building the hype while slowing the spread.
